2022 – 23 Gender Equality Reporting

You can find our 2022-23 report on gender equality here.

CCI takes a simple and proactive approach to managing the gender pay gap:

  • When recruiting for leadership roles, both male and female CV are requested; and
  • When completing the annual remuneration review, a gender and role parity review is undertaken.

The WGEA Competitor Analysis Benchmark for 2023, had CCI’s overall gender pay gap at 17.4%, accompanied by a female leadership representation of 50.6%.  Encouragingly, CCI is performing well, surpassing the insurance industry average and outpacing Australia’s national gender pay gap.

In analysis of the 2023 data, most job position categories were almost at parity which is encouraging.   Contributing to the gender pay gap for 2023 is:

  • the higher female representation in clerical administration positions, which is one of the largest position groups within CCI and whilst still being paid above award rates are traditionally lower paid positions than those such as professional and management positions.   A number of these positions are part time providing employees with greater flexibility to manage work and outside work responsibilities.
  • the Other Manager category had the broadest group of employees in relation to remuneration and was more strongly in favour of men due in the main, to one short term role.

Addressing the gender pay gap is an ongoing process and we are committed to promoting equal opportunities, flexible work policies, and a fair and inclusive environment.
